Kristen Steinke joined Lounsbery, Ferguson, Altona & Peak in January 2015.  Her practice centers on real property related litigation, eminent domain, inverse condemnation, land use, and ADA defense work.  Ms. Steinke represents public entities, land owners, developers, small businesses, contractors, subcontractors, and others in a wide variety of development-related matters.  She has trial experience in state, U.S. District, and U.S. Bankruptcy courts, as well as in appellate proceedings.  Ms. Steinke currently serves as the Contract City Attorney for the City of Lemon Grove.

Ms. Steinke earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2001 and thereafter moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the U.S. Senate.  In 2007 she earned her law degree from Whittier Law School and discovered an interest in land use practice and civil litigation.  Most recently, she was a partner in the firm of Rauch, Detisch & Steinke, where she practiced in the real estate litigation area with an emphasis in eminent domain and inverse condemnation.

Ms. Steinke is currently the Chair of the Eminent Domain Section of the San Diego County Bar and the Chair of the Escondido Chamber of Commerce.  She is a member of the State Bar of California and a member of the San Diego chapter of Lawyer’s Club.
