Kristen Steinke joined Lounsbery, Ferguson, Altona & Peak in January 2015. Her practice centers on real property-related litigation, eminent domain, inverse condemnation, land use and, ADA defense work. Ms. Steinke represents public entities, land owners, developers, small businesses, contractors, subcontractors and, others in a wide variety of development-related matters. She has trial experience in state, U.S. District and U.S. Bankruptcy courts, as well as in appellate proceedings.
Ms. Steinke earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2001 and thereafter moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the U.S. Senate. In 2007 she earned her law degree from Whittier Law School and discovered an interest in land use practice and civil litigation. Most recently, she was a partner in the firm of Rauch, Detisch & Steinke, where she practiced in the real estate litigation area with an emphasis in eminent domain and inverse condemnation.
She was the Chair of the Eminent Domain Section of the San Diego County Bar from 2013 to 2015 and is currently the at-large member for the Section. Ms. Steinke is a member of the State Bar of California and is also a member of the San Diego chapter of Lawyer’s Club, where she volunteers annually for the Women’s Resource Fair. Native to San Diego, Ms. Steinke enjoys golf, hiking and spending time with her family.
